The Grand Canyon, in North Central Arizona, is one of the geographical marvels of the world.  It attracts tourists from all over the world.  While standing on the rim you will hear multiple languages being spoken.

Most visitors go to the south rim because it is the most developed and the easiest to access.  The south rim of the grand canyon is a about 7,000 feet elevation and in a pinon-juniper ecosystem.  This is where several of the famous trails enter the canyon.  For example, Bright Angel trail, with its famous mule rides, starts here.

The north rim is about 2,000 feet higher and is mostly ponderosa parkland.  That means it is also much cooler in the summer.  The two sides have been geographically separated long enough that animal species have genetically diverged.  The famous example is the Abert squirrel on the south rim and the Kiabab squirrel on the north rim.

This website displays only a few of our collection of Grand Canyon pictures.  At Walking Rain Gallery we have more, as well as many pictures of other subjects.  Clicking links on this site will take you to the Grand Canyon category of Walking Rain Gallery.
